ClickUp has been one of our most requested integrations recently. We love their emphasis on speed and keyboard shortcuts. We built a full-featured integration that lets you search ClickUp alongside your other connected apps. Opening a ClickUp space, task or list using Slapdash is about as fast it gets.
You'll also be able to create new tasks from the Command Bar with the Create New ClickUp Task command. For types of tasks you file often, create a template command that pre-fills some fields, for even faster data entry.
While we brew some big changes, we've been having some fun with our color system here.
This week we added Natto, a theme inspired by natto.dev, - a very cool visual programming environment we've been playing with. We also spend a lot of time in Github, so we built Octo which matches Slapdash to the dark & light Github palette. And then there is Dim, a dark theme whose providence is magic incantations - the end result is a theme with elegant brown shades, accented by a punchy orange.
To try one of the new themes, find the Themes panel in Settings. Or, there's now a new Change Theme command you can run too.
Dracula, an immortal creature, came onto the scene as a homicidal maniac living in Transylvania. At some point, he reformed his image and emerged as a distinguished educator, renown for teaching children to count. Since then, Dracula has transcended to the astral plane and is now a popular open source theme. What a life!
We've come in contact with his spirit and added the Dracula theme to Slapdash. It's a dark theme, with regal purples, splashes of gaudy pinks and pops of slimer green. It has high contrast and should serve as a great daily driver.
Go to Settings and find it in the Themes panel.
When you connect apps to Slapdash's unified search, we let you construct sophisticated queries. For example, you can build a query to show all your assigned tasks. Or, you can build a query that shows the latest activity on a project. Imagine your whole working world is now just a database which you can query any which way.
Now you can visualize the results in a table view and choose the fields that are displayed. Just click on the View button wherever Slapdash objects are shown to try it out.
We've enhanced our Hubspot integration with support for Unified Search. You can now find any contact, company, deal or ticket from Slapdash. You also get a Create New HubSpot Contact command to quickly add new contacts directly from the Command Bar. Connecting HubSpot requires a Slapdash Pro account.
We added support for Calendly with two notable commands you can run from the Command Bar.
Get Calendly Link is the fastest way to get your scheduling link, letting you quickly copy or paste it to your active application. You can also use it to generate single-use links.
If you rely on single-use links a lot, you can generate one even faster with a dedicated Create Single-use Calendly Link command.
Here's the deal: we've been jamming. And we hope you like jamming too. Because everyday we pay the price, we're the living sacrifice. Jamming till the jam is through.
Also, we've added Create New Figma Jam command so you can quickly start jamming in Figma too.
It may be a bit surprising, but to make Slapdash work visually, it requires about 200 unique icons. For starters, there are the logos of every application we support. Then, inside each application, we have to represent the types of things it can have: PDF files, Figma files, Github Projects, the list goes on. Commands benefit from custom icons and so do our interfaces (think menu items).
Even trickier is that each icon need to work well in different contexts. For example: we need large icons in the Command Bar, small icons in Table view and typographically balanced icons in our interfaces.
To solve this, we built a new icon system, which allows us to produce one icon that is guaranteed to work everywhere. We then applied the system by updating every one of our 200 icons to unlock a richer, more uniform visual experience.
To get the most out of Slapdash, you need to connect some apps. When you do, your work world is brought together, just a couple of keystrokes away. We added a simple way to discover our favorite and most popular apps, or highlight ones you might have missed. Run Connect Apps and punch Recommended to peruse a curated app selection.
If you're using Slapdash as a team, you can now build a list of recommended apps for others to connect. It functions like a lightweight app directory, documenting what apps people should use. Or, as we like to think of it, a smorgasbord of superpowers that your team can unlock.
